FAM: The EFNIKS Cover Story for December

History and context of legal and social exclusion post-Stonewall and at the height of the AIDS crisis necessitated the advent of the Chosen Family across the LGBTQ community. Modern statistics show that as many as 40% of all homeless youth identify as LGBTQ+. In the month of December, while our society focuses on holidays and loved ones, we are taking a look at how our community reaches out to each other, and cares for each other, examining the meaning of family to all of us.
