The connections that I’ve created, the friendships I’ve been lucky to be part of, all speak to an overall shift in geek culture that I am incredibly excited and passionate about. I am a queer, bi-racial woman of color. I am a fangirl. And I have found my chosen family in geekdom.
In online spaces dedicated to nerds of color, I've never faced any discrimination for my sexuality or gender identity. However, there are times where I wish I had a space specifically for QTPoC nerds, a space where I could express my crushes on female characters without fear, and be myself without correcting someone about my gender.
